Abstract: | Selective vagotomy and antrectomy (SV-A) is performed as a surgical treatment in patients with pyloric stenosis due to peptic ulcer. Since this method shows that the incidence of postoperative complaints is not low, various reconstruction methods have been evaluated to prevent the sequelae. However, there have been no definitely useful methods. A jejunal pouch reconstruction used for gastric cancer surgery has been performed to compensate for the disadvantages of SV-A in 7 patients with complicated gastric, duodenal ulcers at this study. A 10- to 15-cm-long pouch is interposed between the remnant stomach and the duodenum. The pouch is anastomosed to the duodenum using the double tract method. The median postoperative follow-up period was 61 months. No patients showed gastric stasis, ulcer recurrence, residual gastritis. We demonstrated the method of jejunal pouch double tract reconstruction after SV-A. This method was useful for preventing the sequelae after SV-A. |
