Mining and Analysis of Academic Teams Experienced in Treating Infertility with TCM Based on Social Network Analysis

Objective To mine academic teams experienced in treating infertility with TCM based on social network analysis,to conclude the therapeutic methods of teams and to summarize the similarities and differences among teams in different regions.Methods Articles on infertility treated with TCM were retrieved from China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI),WanFang Data,China Science and Technology Journal Database(VIP)and Chinese Biomedical Literature Database(CBM)from inception to 2018 December 31st.The bibliographies were extracted and core authors were selected according to the amount of articles they had written and their H index.Social network analysis was then used to visualize the authors’relation network and to discover the academic teams.Meanwhile,the similarities and differences of ideas among teams were summarized based on the content of the articles.Results Totally 8188 articles were included,204 core authors were selected and 19 academic teams were obtained,from 12 provinces and municipalities such as Beijing,Shanghai and Guangdong.The majority of teams believed that kidney deficiency was the core pathogenesis of infertility while liver qi stagnation and spleen deficiency also play important roles.As for diagnosis and prognosis,teams generally emphazied combine disease with symdrome and treated infertility periodically.Conclusion Contemporary TCM has continuously deepened the understanding of the pathogenesis of infertility,and the academic thinking of each team has also been innovated and developed continuously in the inheritance.The treatment characteristics of academic teams in different regions are common,and each has the characteristics of differentiation and treatment,and the treatment methods are diversified.
