| Abstract: | We present a case of displacement of the azygos vein from the azygos fissure secondary to deflation of the azygos lobe during surgery. We discuss the anatomy of the azygos fissure and possible mechanisms for formation of the "empty" azygos fissure and the "vanishing" azygos fissure. |
