Abstract: | Caloric restriction (CR) inhibited strongly the incidence ofchemically-induced tumors in the neonatal B6C3F1 mouse tumorigenicitybioassay, when begun 3 months after treatment with the potentcarcinogen 6-nitrochrysene. These data indicate that CR canhave a profound inhibitory effect on tumor development evenlong after metabolic activation and DNA repair have occurred. |
