Effects of Siwutang on Auricular and Mesenteric Microcirculation of Mice

he effects of Siwutang(SWT,a kind of traditional Chinese medicine) on auricular and mesenteric of mice were observed. The results showed that 30 g/kg,15 g/kg SWT(gastral injection) obviously dilate the auricular and mesenteric artery(A).During 100%,50%,25% 0.02 ml SWT droped into mesenteric vessels, it also obviously dilate the mesenteric A and venous(V), the arteriodilating effect may be stronger than the venodilating effect in mice.The arterioconstracting response induced by 0.02 mg% NA has an antagonism to SWTs arteriodilating response. Also, SWT has a co operation with Tolazoline(25 mg/ml). Therefore, the results show that the mechanism of SWT may relate to its α adrenergic blockage or its direct effect on microcirculation. The results also provide the experimental basis for the treatment of traditional Chinese medicine.
