Abstract: | Using a high-pressure liquid chromatographic technique, plasma psoralen levels have been measured in patients receiving total-body topical photochcmothcrapy (PUVA). Levels comparable with those found during oral 8-methoxypsoralen (8-MOP) treatment were observed, suggesting that topical therapy has no advantage over the oral route as far as the hazards of systemic therapy are concerned. |
