长期服用昆明山海棠对雄性大鼠抗生育作用可逆性的研究

Studies on the Reversibility of Infertility Causeed by Long-term Administration of Tripterygium Hypoglaueum (LEVL) Hutch in Male Rats

An alcoholic extract of the root of Tripterygium hypoglaucum (ATH) wasgiven P.O.to adult male SD rats at the dose of 0.3g/kg/d.At the end of 6th week,alltreated rats became infertile.The motility and density of epididymal spermatozoa were si-gnificantly lower in the treated rats than in the control rats.ATH was given continuallyat the maintenance dose of 0.2g/kg/d for another 16 weeks.It was found that both the fert-ility and epididymal spermatozoa recovered completly 5 weeks after cessation of treatment.Other parameters including body weight,weights of accessory sex organs,histology oftestis,epididymis and important somatic organs,serum testosterone,blood routine andlymphocytes transformation assay were all examined,and there was no significant diffe-rence from those of controls.Results show that long-term(22 weeks)administration oflow dose of ATH is able to cause reversible infertility in male SD rats,and it does notremain any obvious side effect.
