Discussion on the Effect of Warm Acupuncture Therapy on Fricton Index in Patients with Temporomandibular Joint Disorder Syndrome

Objective:To explore the effect of warm acupuncture therapy on the functional index of the infra temporomandibular joint in patients with temporomandibular joint disorder syndrome.Methods:60 patients that met the inclusion criteria were selected as the research objects and randomly divided into a treatment group and a control group.The control group was given diclofenac diethylamine latex(voltaren)for external use and the treatment group was treated with warm acupuncture.The temporomandibular joint function index(Fricton index)was observed before and after treatment,and the treatment continued for 2 courses.Results:Before treatment,the mandibular movement score(MN),joint noise score(JN),joint pressure score(JP),dysfunction index(DI),muscle pressure score(MP),muscle pain index(PI)and temporomandibular joint index(CMI)had no statistically significant difference(P>0.05).After treatment,the scores of MN,JN,JP,DI,MP,PI,and CMI in the two groups were lower than those before treatment.The differences of all the scores in the treatment group before and after treatment were statistically significant(P<0.05),and the differences of the JN scores in the control group before and after treatment were not statistically significant(P>0.05).In comparison of the difference between the two groups after treatment,the difference of the JP score was not statistically significant(P>0.05),and the rest of the treatment group was better than that of the control group(P<0.05).The total effective rate of the treatment group was 92.86%,higher than 82.76%of the control group.The difference in the curative effect between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Warm acupuncture can treat temporomandibular joint disorder syndrome and significantly improve the dysfunction and pain symptoms of the patients,and has a better effect than the western medicine.
