Abstract:Taking food waste from Changzhou as the research object, the experimental research on the operation and process parameters(including pH,alkalinity, ammonia nitrogen, and so on) of food waste anaerobic treatment were carried out under the conditions of one-time feeding by using UASB reactors. The results showed that ammonia nitrogen cumulated continuously in the process of food waste anaerobic digestion, and pH was maintained about 7. 6. At first the value of COD ranged from 20 000 mg/L to140 000 mg/L to the final UBF water 10 000 mg/L to 12 000 mg/L. VFA became less with time increase. Total nitrogen first increased and then decreased. Biogas production increased stably over time.
Keywords:food waste  up-flow anaerobic sludge blanket (UASB)  anaerobic treatment  biogas
