Abstract:Objective: To study the relation between anticardiolipid antibodies(aCL)and cerebrovascular disease(CVD).Method:The aCL level was measured in 266 patients with ischemic cerebrovascular disease (ICVD) and 73 patients with cerebral hemorrhage(CH). Results: The results showed an increased level of aCL was found in patients with CVD .The difference in the aCL patients and controls was very significant (P<0. 01 ). The difference in the aCL between ICVD patients and CH patients was not significant (P>0. 05 ). The level of elevated IgG- aCL were significantly higher than IgM-aCL(P<0.01)in patient with ICVD. The difference in the aCL between men and wemen among ICVD patients, CH patients and controls was not significant(P>0. 05). Conclusion: AcL can be regarded as an indicator of an increased severity of CVD and aCL was valuable in stroke predication. Including ICVD patients and CH patients, the difference in the aCL between men and wemen was not significant.
Keywords:Cerebrovascular disease Anticardiolipid antibodies
