Abstract: | The successful salvage of a failed reconstruction for adult acquired flat foot deformity requires a thorough assessment of the alignment, healing, and function of the entire foot. The pain that is experienced by the patient often emanates from multiple sources. Once identified, the plan of treatment must provide an integrated and comprehensive approach to resolve the origins of pain to restore durable function to the foot. Often, these goals may be achieved through the use of orthotics, physical therapy, and other nonoperative means. Additional or revision surgical procedures may be necessary to complete or correct the previous attempts to reconstruct the foot. |
