Comparison of Butorphanol, Remifentanil and Fentanyl combined with Propofol in painless colonoscopy examination

Objective： To compare the clinical effects and complications of Butorphanol, Remifentanil and Fentanyl combined with Propofol in painless colonoscopy examination. Methods： 90 patients tested in the examination were randomly divided into three groups with 30 patients in each group. Group A took Butorphanol plus Propofol, group 13 took Remifentanil plus Propofol and group C with Fentanyl plus Propofol. Then MAP, HR, SPO2were recorded at different time points：before induction（T0）, two minute after induction（T1 ）, five minute after induction（Tz）. Doses of Propofol and the complications were also observed, such as nausea and vomiting, body movement reaction and abdominal pain after colonoscopy examination. Results： MAP and HR significantly decreased two minute after induction in three groups compared with those before induction （P~0.05）, but no statistical difference between the three groups （P〉0.05）. The number of patient with SPO2（95% of group C was more than that of group A or B（P〈0.05）. Incidence rate of abdominal pain after colonoscopy examination of group B was higher than that of group A or C（P〈0.01 or P〈0.05） ; the doses of Propofol of group B were less than those of group A or C （P〈0.05）. Conclusion： The application of Butorphanol, Remifentanil and Fentanyl combined＇with Propofol in painless colonoscopy examination are safe and effective. Butorphanol has fewer complications, and shows obvious superiority.
