| Abstract: | In clinical practice, the presence of central retinal venous spontaneous pulsations (RVPs) is usually considered as an indicator of nermal intracra-nial pressure and as an important criterion to rule out intracranial hypertension. The author found that there were still RVPs in 5 cases of intracranial hypertension (240-310mm H2O) with early papilloedema. The efore it is emphasized that a correct diagnosis of intracranial hyhertension from the fun-dus can only be obtained by a comprehensive analysis of the changes of the color, the disc and the edge of the optic papilla associated with the changes of retinal veins including the engorgement and pulsations of them. |
