Abstract: | In response to its specific recruitment needs, Walsall teaching primary care trust has implemented a new final placement programme for community nursing students that focuses on providing students with hands-on experience in the community setting. This article presents the results of an evaluation of the programme. Outcomes of the programme are discussed and analysis is drawn from all key participants. This has been the first stage of a career pathway for 80% of these students, who are now successfully employed as community staff nurses within the PCT. |
