Experimental methodology of human skin microorganisms

Skin microorganisms are vital component of human microorganisms.Recent studies have indicated that skin microorganisms have potential effects on cutaneous metabolism,inflammation,immune response and neuro-endocrine regulation,and can even suppress the host response to tumors.These findings are all associated closely with the advance in microbiology technologies,especially microbial detection equipment and gene sequencing technologies.Additionally,establishment of abundant microbial databases lays the foundation for further studies on the correlation between skin diseases and skin microorganisms.So far,some technologies have been applied from scientific researches to the clinic,as well as from population to individuals.Moreover,the research direction of skin microorganisms not only covers species richness,but also specificity and pathogenicity of species.
