Abstract:A new procedure for studying interaction of viruses with erythrocyte receptors is described by demonstrating that myxoviruses diffusing in agar gel against erythrocyte stromata form distinct reaction lines. Reactions obtained with influenza viruses A, A2, and B as well as with Newcastle disease virus are described and discussed.
