Observation of noninvasive bi-level positive pressure ventilation i the treatment of pulmonary tuberculosis and severe acute left heat failure

Objective To observe noninvasive bi-level positive pressure ventilation for the treatment of pulmonary tuberculosis and severe acute left heart failure.Methods The study included 19 patients with hypoxemiadue complicated with pulmonary tuberculosis and severe acute heart failure with non-reaction to the normal treatment.The clinical symptoms,arterial blood gas and HR,PR,MBP in pre-and post-treatment were recorded to evaluate the efficacy of noninvasive bi-level positive pressure ventilation.Results After noninvasive bi-level positive pressure ventilation,the clinical symptoms of 19 patients improved significantly,and the clinically monitoring indices above showed a statistically significant difference,compared with those pre-mechanical ventilation(P<0.01 or P<0.05).17 cases survived successfully and 2 cases died.Conclusion It is safe and effective in the treatment of pulmonary tuberculosis and severe acute left heart failure.
