MALIGNANT RETROPERITONEAL FIBROUS HISTIOCYTOMAREPORT OF 5 CASES

Five patients with mafignant fibrous histiocytoma(MFH) in the retroperitoneal region were treated in1985 and 1986. MFH, a tumor cf low malignancy, consists of;histiocytes and fibroblastlike cells. Abdominal painand fever are its early symptoms and are usuallyassociated with prominent signs of a tumor mas.s.The local recurrence rate is relatively high and distalmetastasis rare. Early tumor resection is the treat-ment of choice.
