Abstract:Endovenously administered sonicated liposomes of cerebral phospholipids (BC-PL) produce a rapid decrease of catecholamines, nor-epinephrine (NE) and dopamine (DA) in mouse brain. The parallel increase of homovanillic-acid (HVA) results in a shift in DA/HVA ratio, which is an indication of an increased cerebral catecholamine turnover. Phosphatidylserine (PS) is the most active component of BC-PL mixture.
