Influence of Coronavirus Disease 2019 on Cognitive Function and Psychological State of Stroke Inpatients

Objective To analyze the influence of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) on cognitive functionand psychological state of stroke inpatients.Methods In this retrospective study, inpatients with stroke admitted to Department of Neurologyof Beijing Tiantan Hospital, Capital Medical University during COVID-19 pandemic from January1 to April 30, 2020 were included as the observation group, and inpatients with stroke in the samedepartment from January 1 to April 30, 2019 were included as the control group. MoCA and the9-item patient health questionnaire (PHQ-9) scale to screen depression were used in the patients ofboth groups. The 2-item patient health questionnaire (PHQ-2) was used in all the included patientsto screen depression at 3-month follow up.Results A total of 106 patients in observation group and 180 in control group were included inthis study.
