Abstract:Objective To observe the clinic effect of stem cell transplantation on treatment of patients with decompensated cirrhosis.Methods 110 patients with decompensated cirrhosis were treated by stem cell transplantation based on conventional treatment.The liver function,prothrombin time (PT),cholinesterase and alpha-fetoprotein (AFP)were detected after 4 weeks,and the changes of symptoms and signs were observed.Results Four weeks after transplantation,the levels of plasma albumin (ALB) and cholinesterase were (31.2 ± 4.5) g/L and (80.9± 22.7) U/L respectively,which were increased significantly ( t =2.95,P < 0.01 ; t =2.06,P < 0.05).The levels of PT was (22.9 ± 3.6)s,which decreased significantly ( t =2.18,P < 0.05),but the levels of aspartate aminotransferase (ALT),alanine aminotransferase (AST),total bilirubin (TBil) and AFP had no significant changes ( t =1.32,1.58,1.05,1.57,P > 0.05)before and after the transplantation.The clinical symptoms,signs and life quality of patients with decompensated cirrhosis could be significantly improved by stem cell transplantation.There were no adverse reactions and serious intraoperative complications recently.Conclusions Stem cell transplantation on treatment of patients with decompensated cirrhosis has a good short-term effect.
