Pyogenic liver abscess secondary to Streptococcus anginosus in an adolescent

Abstract:Pyogenic liver abscess in the pediatric population is a rare entity and can be difficult to manage. Surgical infections caused by Streptococcus anginosus are exceedingly rare. Here we present a case of pyogenic liver abscess caused by S anginosus in an adolescent presenting with fever, nausea, emesis, and right upper quadrant abdominal discomfort.
