Research progresses of otomycosis externa

In recent years,the otomycosis externa has been increasing year by year, especially in the provinces with humid and hot climate in southern China. Common pathogens include Aspergillus, Candida, Penicillium, Mucor, Blastomycedermatitidis, etc. The manifestations of different pathogens under oto-endoscopy are also different, and white, gray, yellow or smoky gray moldy moss can be seen on the skin surface of the external auditory canal. Patients often have symptoms such aspruritus,ear tightness and hearing loss. For people with weakened immunity or chronic wasting disease, drugs should be used rationally to keep the external auditory canal dry to avoid fungal invasion and infection. For people who have suffered from external auditory canal mycosis, antifungal drugs should be used for treatment in time. This article reviews the research progress of epidemiological characteristics, common pathogens, inducements and etiology, clinical manifestations ,diagnostic tests and prevention of otomycosis externa.
