Efficacy of Glucocorticoid Combined with lauromacrogol in the Treatment of Strawberry Capillary Hemangioma in Hyperplastic Phase and Its Effects on Bcl-2 and Bax mRNA

[Abstract] Objective: To probe into the clinical efficacy of glucocorticoid combined with lauromacrogol in the treatment of strawberry capillary hemangioma in hyperplastic phase and its effects on Bcl-2 and Bax mRNA. Methods: Totally 120 children with strawberry capillary hemangioma in hyperplastic phase admitted into our hospital from May 2015 to Oct. 2017 were extracted to be divided into the observation group and the control group via the random number table, with 60 cases in each group. The control group was treated with conventional glucocorticoid, while the observation group received lauromacrogol combined with glucocorticoid. The efficacy and adverse drug reactions, expression of Bcl-2 and Bax mRNA, serum vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) before and after treatment of two groups were compared. Results: The total effective rate in the observation group 88.33% was higher than that in the control group 73.33%, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). After treatment, serum VEGF and bFGF decreased in both groups, and the observation group was significantly lower than the control group (P<0.05). The expression of Bcl-2 mRNA decreased, and the expression of Bax mRNA increased. The expression of Bcl-2 mRNA in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, and the expression of Bax mRNA was higher than that in the control group (P<0.05). Adverse drug reactions were mainly local swelling, local ulcers, pigmentation, central obesity, and hypertension, and there was no statistically significant difference (P>0.05). Conclusion: The clinical efficacy of glucocorticoid combined with lauromacrogol in the treatment of strawberry capillary hemangioma in hyperplastic phase is significant, which can effectively reduce the expression of Bcl-2 mRNA and promote the expression of Bax mRNA, so as to accelerate the apoptosis of hemangioma cells and improve the efficacy.
