Abstract: | Reconstruction of the distal lower limb and foot is a difficult problem, especially where large areas of skin loss have occurred. The cross-leg flap is a safe and reliable alternative to free tissue transfer in paediatric lower limb trauma. By incorporating fascia or muscle the versatility of the flap can be enhanced. Our experience with the cross-leg flap in children during the last 5 years is discussed. |
