Analysis on the development and influencing factors of traditional Chinese medicine service of community health service stations and village clinics

Objective To understand the development and influencing factors of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)service of community health service stations and village clinics in China so as to provide policy basis for improving TCM service system.Methods Through systematic sampling and general survey,community health service stations and village clinics from 7 cities were selected according to regional and economic conditions in the nationwide,and self-made questionnaire was used to conduct network survey.Results The annual total person-time of diagnosis and treatment in sample survey of 2019,the person-time in community health service stations was(8302.43±353.49),while in village clinics was(3725.68±137.46),the proportion of TCM service person-time accounted for total person-time of diagnosis and treatment was 28.73%and 26.27%respectively.The results of rank sum test showed that there was statistical significance in the differences of different regions,institution types,management types,whether there were TCM policies,TCM funds,and TCM service person-times of institutions included in medical insurance for TCM service person-time(P<0.01).Further multiple linear regression results showed that there was statistical significance in the differences of region,institutional management type,medical insurance,TCM hospital practitioners and practitioners who can provide TCM services for TCM service person-time(P<0.05).Conclusions TCM service in grass-roots health institution is insufficient.Region,institution management category and medical insurance situation are external factors that affect grass-roots TCM service.Local governments should guarantee the investment according to local characteristics.TCM health personnel is the internal key factor that affects TCM service,so it is necessary to strengthen the construction of TCM talents.
