Progress in antitumor effect and mechanism of Cinobufagin

Cinobufagin is a water-soluble component of Bufo gargarizans cantor,which has the functions of clearing away heat and detoxification,removing blood stasis and swelling,etc.In recent years,a large number of clinical and experimental studies have found that Cinobufacin has obvious anti-tumor effect in lung cancer,liver cancer,breast cancer,colorectal cancer,nasopharyngeal cancer,osteosarcoma and other malignant tumors.Its anti-tumor mechanism mainly includes inhibition of tumor cell proliferation,induction of tumor cell apoptosis,block of tumor cell cycle,increase the sensitivity of chemotherapy and radio-therapy and reversal of drug resistance,induction of autophagy,inhibition of tumor cell metastasis and invasion,regulation of tumor cell microenvironment(matrix),inhibition of tumor angiogenesis,enhancement of immune function,regulation of bacterial function,etc.This review summarizes the antitumor effects and related mechanisms of Cinobufacin at home and abroad in recent years,in order to provide more basis for experimental research and clinical treatment.
