The preoperative nursing care for patients of lumbar disc herniation with microendoscopic discectomy in the lateral lying position

Objective:To investigate the key point of the preoperative nursing care for the patients of lumbar disc herniation with microendoscopic discectomy(EMD) in the lateral lying position.Methods:200 patients of lumbar disc herniation were given mental nursing and every preparation work before operation,and monitored the change of the patients,condition after operation,then made the patients properly exercised and ready to discharge.Results:After an average follow-up of one year,according to the Macnnabscale,the excellent and good rate was 96.5%.171 cases were evaluated as excellent,22 cares as good,7cases as approved and none as bad.The therapeutic effect was satisfactory.Conclusion:The key to a successful operation is relevant with some proper and effective nursing steps such as preoperative psychological nursing,preoperative postural training,postoperative exercise and so on.
