Observation on the Effects of Combined Therapy of Poractant Alfa Injection and Phentolamine for Full Term Newborns with Respiratory Failure

Objective:To investigate Curosurf and Phentolamine treatment of respiratory failure in term newborns.Methods:One hundred and twenty full term newborn patients with respiratory failure with the blood gas analysis and X ray data were randomly divided into control group and experimental group.Both groups were received conventional treatment based on the home oxygen therapy.Experimental group were given phentolamine 3 μg/(min·kg) by infusion pump in 2 hours,q8h,while intratracheal instillation of Poractant Alfa Injection 100～200 mg once.Depending on the severity,treatment intervals were gradually extended,until the withdrawal.Results:The differences of blood gas analysis results between before and after 24 hours’ treatment in the experimental group were as follows: PO2 was(59.1±18.7) mm Hg,PCO2 was-(43.9±8.5) mm Hg,PO2/FiO2 was(239.7±57.7) mm Hg;in the control group,PO2 was(30.3±9.7) mm Hg,PCO2 was-(33.8±19.7) mm Hg,and PO2/FiO2 was(106.3±46.9) mm Hg.After 24 hours’ treatment the blood gas analysis results were significantly improved,the difference of treatment effect between two groups was statistically significant(P<0.01).Conclusions:The treatment effect of Poractant Alfa Injection combinded with Phentolamine for full term newborns with respiratory failure is good and should be early used.
