Retrospective Analysis of Clinical Data of Intestinal Tuberculosis in 19 Cases

Objective To explore how to improve the diagnosis and treatment of intestinal tuberculosis by analyzing clinical data of 19 cases.Methods Analyzed retrospectively hospitalized diagnosed data of intestinal tuberculosis from January 2997 to October 2010,including clinical manifestations,laboratory tests,colonoscopy and histopathological examinations.Results Among 19 cases,9 patients were male and 10 female,whose ages were from 16 to 64 years.The time of onset of symptoms to come to doctors was 6 days to 33 months.The most common symptom was 15 cases had abdominal pain（78.9%）,8 cases also had pulmonary tuberculosis（42.1%）.14 cases had increased ESR（73.7%）,and 9 cases were PPD-positive （47.4%）.The most involved location was ileocecal junction（14 cases,73.7%） by colonoscopy,ulcer type was 10 cases （52.6%）,hyperplasia type was 4 cases（21.1%） and mixed type was 5 cases（26.3%）.Histopathological confirmed cases were 10（52.6%）.Conclusion Intestinal tuberculosis has no specific clinical manifestations.Colonoscopy and biopsy is an effective method of diagnosis,which should be combined with ESR,PPD,chest X-ray and other tests.If necessary,diagnostic treatment is feasible.
