Clinical study on traditional Chinese medicine constitution types of adult primary immune thrombocytopenia

Objective:To explore the relationship between adult primary immune thrombocytopenia(ITP)and traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)constitution.Methods:The general data and constitutional types of 60 patients with adult primary ITP were recorded by TCM Constitution Scale.The distribution of TCM constitutional types in different gender and courses of the disease was recorded and analyzed statistically.Results:In 60 patients,the frequency of constitution was 98,and the proportion of qi deficiency constitution was the highest,with 22 cases(22.45%),followed by yin deficiency constitution>phlegm-dampness constitution>yang deficiency constitution/normal constitution>blood stasis constitution>special constitution>dampness-heat constitution>qi depression constitution.The distribution of constitution types in different genders was similar.The percent of normal constitution in different courses of disease was significantly different(P<0.05).Conclusion:There are certain advantages in regulating this disease from qi deficiency and yin deficiency.
