| Abstract: | Objective To examine the surgical highlight and clinical efficacy of endoscopic sa- phenous vein harvest（ESVH） in coronary artery bypass grafting （CABG）. Methods From Jan 2001 to Dec 2008,the saphenous vein was harvested for CABG in 72 patients by using the endoscopic technique （group A）and in 140 patients with the traditional method（ group B）. Comparisons were made for the operating data and postoperative complications. Results The vein harvest time was not significantly different between the two groups. The incision length in the group A was significantly shorter than in group B（7.2 ± 2.6 cm vs 42.6 ± 12.9 cm,P 〈0.01 ）. Postoperative leg pain,wound infection and edema in the group A were significantly less than in group B （ P 〈 0.05 ）. Conclusion ESVH has the advantages of minimal in- vasion, less postoperative complications and appearance improvement. |
