癫痫患者的生活质量

目前我国约有600万癫痫患者,虽然大多数患者可通过药物治疗使发作得到控制或减少,但仍有20%左右的患者不能很好控制,且长期应用抗癫痫药物,药物本身对患者的身心健康会造成一定程度的损害,因此癫痫患者药物控制好的也同样存在生活质量的问题。以往对癫痫患者多注重药物治疗控制发作,而忽略患者的自身感受,有的患者服用多种抗癫痫药物治疗,或一种抗癫痫药用量过大,虽然能控制发作,但由于副作用大以致患者不能上学,不能工作,同时,社会上对此病的某些偏见导致患者存在明显心理障碍。这些对患者造成的痛苦有时比发作本身造成的损害还严重及持久。

Quality of life in patients with epilepsy

Epilepsy is a kind of familiar disease.Today,in our country,there are about 6millions patients w ith epilepsy.Although the majority of patients' seizures are under control or reduced by the medicine treatment,20%still keep seizure.At the same ti me,the drugs can lead to damage in a certain degree to the mind and body of patients.And they need take the antiepileptic drugs for a long term.So the quality of life is highly important for the patients who have had no seizu res after taking antiepileptic,too.In the past,doctors focused on the control of the seizure,but neglected the fee lings of patients.For some epileptics,th e seizures can be controlled by takin g two or more kinds of antiepileptic,or using a high dose single drug.But the pa-tients are unable to go to school or wo rk because of the side effect of the drugs.At the same time,some social prejudices to the disease result in th e obvious mental disorder of the patie nts.Sometimes,the damages caused b y the drugs are more serious and consta nt than that by the seizures.
