Reminiscences of Hans Selye, and the birth of "stress"

The stress concept is one of the most commonly applied constructs in all of mental health. While the nature of stress is relatively well known, little is known of the man who pioneered the field. This paper provides the reader with a rare glimpse at the birth of the concept of stress and the man who was its father: Hans Selye.
