| Abstract: | Objective To evaluate the efficacy and side effect of Sertraline and Paroxetine in the treatment of depression.Methods 120 out-patients and in-patients were divided to two groups,HAMD-24(Hamilton Depression Scale),HAMA(hamilton anxiety scale)and TESS(treatment emergent symptom scale)were used to evaluate the effecacy and side effect.Results Scores of HAMD and HAMA were significantly lower in Paroxetine group than those in Sertraline group in 1 and 2 weeks after treatment(P<0.05).Both groups were similar in effieacies at the end of treatment.Side effects of both groups were mild.Conclusion Sertraline and Paroxetine are safe and effective antidepressants.Paroxetine has faster egicacy. |
