Abstract:Migraine is essentially an episodic headache usually accompanied by neurological disorder, vomiting, photo- and phonophobia and malaise. The sensory nerves in the cerebral blood vessels are activated during migraine attack. The trigeminal systems is the sensory system that innervation cranial vessels and dura mater via its first ophthalamic division. Pain fibers from the trigeminal nerve descends to the second cervical cord segment where fibers from the occipital region transverse the dorsal root ganglion to converge on second order neurons. C2 root ganglion block therapy is the most efficacious treatment of the acute attack of migraine. Stellate ganglion block is a usefulness of amelioration of the sensory nerves of the intracranial vessels and prevention of migraine headache.
