Study on the Causes of Postoperative Emergence Agitation in Infants with Cleft Lip and Palate and Related Countermeasures

Cleft lip and palate is the most common congenital malformation in craniofacial region, which not only seriously affects the appearance, but also affects the growing development and physical function of the children. The cleft lip and palate reconstructive surgery is usualy recommended to be performed during babyhood and childhood periods to obtain more satisfied outcome, and to reduce harmful effect to the children. However, the occurrence rate of emergence agitation after operation was high among the children with cleft lip and palate. Here is to make review of the causes of postoperative emergence agitation in children with cleft lip and palate, as well as countermeasures, aiming at provide guidance for the clinical practice
