Study on the correlation between the number of metabolic syndrome component and serum adiponectin concentration

Objective: To study the correlation between serum adiponectin concentration and metabolic syndrome. Methods: Forty-four metabolic syndrome subjects and 1~2 kinds of abnormal metabolism subjects without artherosclerosis and eight healthy subjects were included. Body mass index, waist circumference, hip circumference, waist-to-hip ratio, blood pressure,lipid profile and fasting plasma glucose level were measured. According to the metabolic syndrome diagnostic criteria of international diabetes federation, the subjects were divided into five groups: control group, 1 metabolic syndrome component, 2 metabolic syndrome components, 3 metabolic syndrome components and 4~5 metabolic syndrome components; According to genders, the subjects were divided into two groups: male and female.
