Expression and clinical significance of CEACAM5 in lung adenocarcinoma

Objective To investigate the expression, clinical significance and prognosis of carcinoembryonic antigen-related cell adhesion molecule 5(CEACAM5) in lung adenocarcinoma.Methods 51 patients with lung adenocarcinoma diagnosed in our hospital from August 2016 to August 2017 were retrospectively analyzed, and the diseased lungs of lung adenocarcinoma patients were taken as the experimental group, then 42 cases were selected and the adjacent tissues were taken as the control group. The expression of CEACAM5 in lung adenocarcinoma and paracancerous tissues was detected by immunohistochemical SP method, the Ualcan database(http://ualcan.path.uab.edu/analysis.html) was used to analyze the relationships between the expression of CEACAM5 and gender, age, stage. The Kaplan-Meier survival curve was used to analyze the survival of CEACAM5. Cox regression analysis was used to analyze the influencing factors of lung adenocarcinoma, and the correlation between the expression of CEACAM5 and CEACAM6, CEACAM1 in lung adenocarcinoma was analyzed.Results Ualcan database showed that CEACAM5 expression in lung adenocarcinoma tissue was higher than that in normal tissue(P<0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in the long-term survival rate of patients with lung adenocarcinoma with high CEACAM5 expression compared with patients with low expression(P>0.05). There was significant correlation between CEACAM5, CEACAM6 and CEACAM1 in lung adenocarcinoma(r=0.48, 0.43, P<0.05). The results showed that the positive rate of CEACAM5 in the experimental group was 62.75%, which was higher than 21.43%in the control group( P < 0. 05). There were significant differences in age,clinical stage,lymph node metastasis,tumor differentiation and tumor size between the CEACAM5 positive group and the negative group( P < 0. 05). Kaplan-Meier survival curve showed that the survival rate of patients with positive expression of CEACAM5 was 50%,which was lower than 78. 9% of negative expression patients. The log rank value was 4. 324,P = 0. 038. COX regression analysis showed that CEACAM5,clinical stage,and lymph node metastasis were risk factors for the prognosis of lung adenocarcinoma. Conclusion The positive rate of CEACAM5 in lung adenocarcinoma is higher than that in adjacent tissues,which is related to the prognosis of lung adenocarcinoma,and CEACAM5,clinical stage and lymph node metastasis are risk factors affecting the prognosis of lung adenocarcinoma. It is speculated that CEACAM5 may be a potential target for the treatment of lung adenocarcinoma.
