The Effect of Flavone on Vascular Endothelial Function of Female Patients with Angina Pectoris

Objective： To investigate the efficacy of flavone in treatment of postmenopausal female patients with angina pectoris and its influence on endothelial function. Method： 105 postmenopausal female cases with angina pectoris were randomly divided into flavone group（treatment group,55 cases） and control group（50 cases）.We recorded the items as angina pectoris attacks,nitroglycerin consumption,total times of ST segment depressed over 0.1mV in holter（∑ST）,total leads of ST segment depressed over 0.25mV in general 12-leads electrocardiogram（NST）before and after investigation.Meanwhile we also detected plasma nitric oxide（NO）,endothelin（ET）,oxidized low density lipoprotein（ox-LDL）,malondialdehyde（MDA）,superoxide dismutase（SOD）.We measured left ventricle ejection fraction（LEF）,left ventricle stroke volume（SV）,cardiac output（CO）,left ventricular end diastolic diameter（LVDD）,left ventricular end systolic diameter（LVSD）,interventricular septal thickness（IVST） by echocardiography. Result： After treatment of six months,the angina pectoris attacks and nitroglycerin consumption reduced significantly in treatment group compared with control group.Also the same reduction of ∑ST and NST（P〈0.01）.Plasma NO and SOD were significantly elevated（P〈0.05）,ET,ox-LDL and MDA levels were significantly declined（P〈0.05）between the two groups.There were no significantly changes in LVSD LVDD and IVST value（P〈0.05）,while LVEF SV and CO levels were significantly elevated（P〈0.05）between the two groups. Conclusion： Flavone can significantly improve the clinical symptoms in treating postmenopausal female patients with angina pectoris.It not only has protective effect on endothelial function but can improve cardiac function.
