| Abstract: | Activities of the cysteine cathepsins B, L, and especially H in hepatic and renal tissues from pregnant rats were found to
be many times higher than in those from nonpregnant controls. In rats fasted for several days, these activities declined in
the kidneys and rose in the liver.
