Effects of Ambroxol Hydrochloride Combined with Linezolid on Clinical Curative Effect and Blood Gas Indexes in Patients with Severe Pneumonia

Abstract:Objective This study aimed to explore the effects of ambroxol hydrochloride combined with linezolid on clinical curative effect and blood gas indexes in patients with severe pneumonia. Methods A total of 116 patients with severe pneumonia admitted to our hospital from February 2019 to January 2020 were enrolled as the research objects. They were randomly divided into observation group(n=58) and control group(n=58) with a random number table by using block randomization. The control group was treated with linezolid, while observation group was treated with ambroxol hydrochloride and linezolid. All patients were treated for 7 d. The total response rate after treatment were evaluated, inflammatory cytokines [TNF-α,, HMGB1, IL-1β] and blood gas indexes [PaO2, PaCO2, SaO2] was recorded before and after treatment, and incidence of adverse reactions during treatment were compared between the two groups. Results After treatment, the total response rate of treatment in observation group was significantly higher than that in control group(P<0.05). The disappearance time of fever, cough, expectoration and lung rales, and negative conversion time of sputum bacteria in observation group were shorter than those in control group(P<0.05). The levels of serum TNF-α,, HMGB1 and IL-1β, and PaCO2 in observation group were lower than those in control group(P<0.05), while PaO2 and SaO2 were higher than those in control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The application of ambroxol hydrochloride combined with linezolid in the treatment of patients with severe pneumonia can significantly improve blood gas indexes, reduce levels of inflammatory cytokines, with good clinical curative effects.
