| Abstract: | Retinol-binding protein 4 (RBP4) is a member ofthe lipoprotein-troponin family. RBP4 is the only retinol (vitamin A) -specifictransporter secreted by liver and adipose tissue, and plays an important rolein insulin sensitivity. Despite the association between the level of RBP4 andthe risk of cardiovascular diseases, there are few studies focused on therelationship between RBP4 and cardiovascular diseases. To sum up, it is ofgreat significance to explore the role of RBP4 in cardiovascular diseases forthe prevention, screening, and treatment of cardiovascular diseases. This articlereviews the relationships between RBP4 and its related diseases. |
