Abstract:ObjectiveTo explore the feasibility of head scanning imaging with 16 row mobile CT made in China under the condition of helicopter transportation. MethodsEighty-eight healthy officers and soldiers serving in a certain air force department were randomly divided into flight group (helicopter in the air flying state for head scanning) and control group (helicopter conducted head scanning in landing state). The imaging quality, motion artifacts, data acquisition and information transmission of 2 groups were analyzed and compared. ResultsBone window imaging: the skull, orbit and sphenoid sinus were clearly imaged in both groups. Window imaging of brain tissue: the structures of eyeball, optic nerve, brain stem, cortex and white matter were clearly displayed in both groups. But there is motion artifact in part of skull base, 88.89% of the subjects had obvious motion artifacts in flight group, 26.58% of the subjects had slight linear motion artifacts in control group, there was significant difference between both groups (χ2=14.196, P=0.001). The data showed that acquisition and information transmission of mobile CT are normal in flight. The dose of CTDIvol was 36.27 mGy in both groups. ConclusionThe 16 row mobile CT scanning is stable and the data acquisition and information transmission are normal in flight.
