| Abstract: | The innuence of physical growth andd sexual maturation on blood pressure was investigated in a population of 375 females aged from 10 to 17 years. The increase in blood pressure with age during puberty was due to the increase in height and weight and sexual maturation. Multiple regrssion analysis showed that 24~26% of the variance of systolic pressure and diastolic pressure could be accounted for by height. weight and sexual maturation. The findings suggest that these factors must be considered in assessing b1ood pressure in puberty. |
