Discussion on traditional Chinese medicine syndrome of non-infectious fever after neurosurgery based on internal injury fever theory

Fever is a common complication after craniotomy operations. It can be caused by infectious or non-infectious factors. This non-infectious fever could be classified as internal injury fever in traditional Chinese medicine(TCM),and it generally caused by deficiency,solid and emotional factors. The basic pathogenesis of deficiency is deficiency of yang,deficiency of blood,deficiency of yin,which results in deficiency of energy and body fluid. Another reason is solid,including pathogenesis of blood,phlegm,dampness blocking the body. Emotional depression can also be turned into heat. Treatments for patients with non-infectious fever after craniotomy are mainly physical cooling and treatment based on the cause of treatment,but effects are not that satisfact. Therefore,we hope to discuss the TCM syndrome differentiation and the treatment of this kind of disease to help patients with postoperative rehabilitation and improving the quality of their lives.
