Investigation of preoperative interview conducted by operating room nurses in 2 level and above hospitals in Chongqing

Objective To investigate the status of preoperative interview conducted by operating room nurses so as to improve the quality of nursing. Methods The way to collect patients information, focus of preoperative interview and health education behavior were investigated among 334 operating room nueses. Results Among the participants,84.43% nurses believed that preoperative interview was necessary. The differences between different level hospitals were significant（P 〈 0. 01 or P 〈 0. 05 ） in the way to collect patients information, focus of preoperative interview and health education behaviors. Conclusion There are some discrepancies in preoperative interview conducted by nurses in different level hospitals. It is necessary to formulate the standards of preoperative interview and quality control to ensure the quality of interview.
