Abstract: | Alopecia areata (AA) is a genetic and immune‐mediated disease that targets anagen hair follicles. Despite limited evidence supporting the efficacy of corticosteroid treatments, they are often prescribed as first‐line therapy because of their favorable safety profile. Prostaglandin analogues are currently being studied as an alternate therapy for scalp AA in adults. Herein we present a case of steroid‐resistant multifocal AA that was successfully treated with topical bimatoprost. |
