Huang Gongxiu＇s academic thinking of herbs is evidence -based. This paper outlines his academic thinking about herbs in Bencao Qiuzhen through the method - careful examining and correcting ancient books, the content - firstly identifying qi, odor, form and quality of herbs, and then differentiating channels and viscera, finally demonstrating their clinical functions, and the purpose -en- suring doctors with little learning, young learners and unskilled doctors a clear and correct understanding of herbs, his article systemati- cally studied the Huang Gongxiu scholar thoughts of evidence based Material Medica and its researching methods.
