Abstract:Objective To investigate the low temperature freezing effect on nerve regenesis and damage in order to serve the clinic application. Methods The nerves were frozen with different low temperatures. The damaged and regenerated nerve were examined for pathological change, sciatic functional index, somatosensory evoked potential. Results The nerval basement membrane could be kept integrity when the nerve was frozen between - 60 ℃ to - 100 ℃ and the nerve could be regenerated completely. If the temperature was lower than - 100℃, the nerve fibre became demolished. However, the nerve could be regenerated faster when temperature higher than -60℃. Conclusion The nerve can be effectively freezen and regenerated completely in between -60 ℃ to -100℃ temperature range.
Keywords:freezing  nerve  regenerate  rat
